FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (January 27, 2026) – The Tim Alexander for Congress campaign today announced the endorsements of two Atlantic City leaders: City Council President Aaron "Sporty" Randolph and Councilman Kaleem Shabazz. This latest endorsement follows that of Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman, signaling growing momentum for Alexander’s campaign to represent South Jersey’s sprawling 2nd Congressional District. The district comprises all or portions of Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Salem, Gloucester, and Ocean counties.
In making their endorsements, both council members cited Alexander’s unique background bridging law enforcement and civil rights, as well as his commitment to economic revitalization, as key reasons for their support.
Councilman Shabazz highlighted Alexander’s focus on bringing federal investment back to the district: “Atlantic City is the economic engine of our entire region. We have incredible potential here, but we need a partner in Washington who knows how to bring real investment back home. Tim Alexander is that partner. He has a concrete vision for bringing federal infrastructure dollars here, supporting our local entrepreneurs, and creating sustainable jobs. I’m endorsing Tim because he sees what Atlantic City can become.”

Council President Aaron "Sporty" Randolph emphasized Alexander’s connection to the community and his willingness to do the hard work: “In Atlantic City, we know the difference between someone who just shows up for a photo op and someone who actually shows up to do the work. I’m backing Tim Alexander because he does the work. As a former captain of county detectives, prosecutor, and currently a civil rights attorney, he knows how to balance public safety with justice. We need a congressman who will pick up the phone when Atlantic City calls. Tim Alexander is that man.” Campaign Apparel | CHRIS MARLYN CREATIONS
Tim Alexander accepted the endorsements with the following statement: “I am deeply humbled to have the trust of Council President Randolph and Councilman Shabazz. These are men who fight for their neighbors every single day, and they know exactly what Atlantic City needs to thrive. This isn’t just about winning an election. It’s about building a coalition that ensures South Jersey finally gets the representation, the resources, and the respect we deserve in Washington.”
