Saiyd Harvin | Computer Science Major | Class of 2026

At Wilberforce University, students don’t just chase degrees—they chase growth, purpose, and connection. And for Saiyd Harvin, a driven Computer Science major set to graduate in Spring 2026, that’s exactly what his time at Wilberforce has been all about.
Wilberforce-Ohio When Saiyd first stepped on campus, he wasn’t just looking for a school—he was looking for a community. “It was the culture for me,” he says. “Wilberforce has this energy where students genuinely push each other to do better. It’s not just about books and grades—it’s about becoming the best version of yourself.”
That sense of belonging is what pushed Saiyd to get involved beyond the classroom. As a member of SGA and WU Culture, he’s found himself right in the middle of student life—representing voices, creating change, and helping shape what it means to be a Wilberforce student today. “Being involved showed me how much of an impact students can actually make here,” he explains. “It’s not just leadership—it’s legacy.”
When it comes to life after graduation, Saiyd’s already making moves. Thanks to the connections and mentorship he’s found at Wilberforce, he’s landed two internships, gaining real-world experience and clarity on his career path. “Wilberforce has set me up for success with connections I can carry into my corporate career,” he says. “It’s more than just who you meet—it’s the network and support that stays with you.”For students thinking about joining the Wilberforce family, Saiyd keeps it simple: “Make the most of your experience. Opportunities are everywhere, but you have to be willing to take them.” He encourages new students to get active, meet people, and explore everything campus has to offer. “Don’t wait for things to come to you—go after them. Every moment here is a chance to grow.”
Looking ahead, Saiyd already has plans to give back. He hopes to support Wilberforce financially after graduation, ensuring that future students have access to the same experiences that helped shape his journey.
Saiyd Harvin’s story is more than just one of academic success—it’s about stepping up, showing out, and leaving something meaningful behind. He’s proof that at Wilberforce, your education doesn’t just prepare you for the future—it helps you build it.
