Ariel Joy Edmond is a massage technician who has healing in her hands. Ariel has blessed multiple choirs with her melodic voice that reminds hearers of Aretha Franklin herself. An avid attendee of the I Can See You Well With the Kidz Club Crew (urban Sunday School program aired on Tuesday and Wednesday per Comcast Public Access) throughout her Middle School and High School years in Neptune, N.J., Ariel has made a difference in many lives with her healing hands, Christian faith, and love of Family, community, and art. When interviewed, Ariel shared, "I am honored and humbled to be chosen as the "August Black Beauty of the Month" for this Illustrious Newspaper, the relaunched Echo N.J.'s oldest Black-owned newspaper. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved The Lord, My Family, Helping Others, and Singing! My family has always kept its children on the right track and close to the Lord! Most of all, we have always been encouraged to be our best selves and never let the world steal our Joy!
Ariel sat at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Atlantic Highlands N.J. with Brother Reid, a retired Red Bank teacher, and athletic coach, in the summer of 2015. (Rest in peace, and love, Brother Reid)
So I was always determined to be my natural, joyful self no matter where or what I was doing, which earned me the nickname " Ariella Joy & Happiness"! I choose to express the Joy the Lord has blessed me with throughout my life! When I work with my family to uphold the Beauty of our ancestors' final resting place, I am filled with the JOY of UMOJA (unity) because we strive to do what is right by our people. I feel unspeakable Joy whenever I sing with my family because what can be better than that? And no matter where I worked or attended school, my Joy was never diminished. I want to thank God for bringing me and my family as far as He has and thank Him in advance for the rest of the way.
