David Davis was one of our most inspirational voices for the relaunched Echo. Through his words of wisdom and innervisions, he allowed readers to experience the unique strength and courage of writers who confront multiple calamities, including illnesses. Despite these challenges, they speak out boldly about their faith in Jesus Christ and demonstrate that anyone, regardless of their circumstances—be it sickness, poverty, or burdens—can make a difference in the lives of others by offering words of life, encouragement, and truth-telling. I have selected the last three posts David sent to me for publication on the Echo News TV LLC platform, along with his first contributions from the year 2023. In those initial posts, David, alongside Rev. Joe Taylor, expressed their support for the rebirth of The Echo, New Jersey's oldest Black-owned newspaper, "In Concern of the Negro," since 1904.

Thank you for reminiscing and remembering our dear friend Mr. David Davis, who has transcended into glory alongside our many ancestors in heaven.

DAVID DAVIS

"Creator God, I ask you to bless my friends reading this right now Lord, show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace & mercy. Where there is self-doubting, release a renewed confidence in Your ability to work through them. Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask You to give them understanding, patience, & strength as they learn submission to Your leading. Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing Your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You. Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release to them Your courage. Where there is a sin locking them, reveal it, and break its hold over my friend's life. Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders, and friends to support, and encourage them. Give each of them discernment to recognize the demonic forces around them, and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it. I ask You to do these things in Jesus' name. In Christian love, Your Friend in Jesus!"..Dave

John 8:6... They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground."Father, today may Your Spirit remind us to seek the quiet so that we may listen first to Your voice and then understand the hearts of others."

One text message can set us back for years, in Acts 27, the apostle Paul’s boat was stuck in a storm so bad that many of the men on board, “...finally gave up all hope of being saved.” But just because things looked bleak and just because it was hard and just because they thought it was all over, doesn’t mean God abandoned them. Someone on that ship had a promise from God. They were going to survive. Like Paul, we have a promise from God and this is not how your story ends. We’re going to make it to shore, it just might not be in the way we expected. 12/8/2023

"Plans are far more than wanderings of our imagination. They’re doors of hope to what we believe God would have us do. When we trust Him in the midst of the unplanned, He takes the places of unexpected change and transforms them into opportunities for us to grow our faith. And He promises never to let us “fall” even as He leads us “by the hand” (Psalm 37:24) Date: 1/8/24 3:30 PM

The truth is that life teaches us many things, that sometimes we are not able to understand or explain. It gets to the point where you always question... Why to me?. However, in one way or another, there are hundreds of life lessons that will come to us all, sooner or later for better or for worse, but despite the fact that we may or may not make use of them. Not everything is achieved at the instant you desire, because time is like a river, you can never touch its waters twice, because the water that has already passed will never pass again. There is always an inner and higher strength in your heart that doesn't judge you but guides and enlightens you not to lose hope!. There, is when you learn to discern, to be resilient in every moment, every person and every thing, because in this life everything has a purpose, time and place!. So, you have to sacrifice a lot of things. Not everything is loss but gain. Everything is accomplished in God's time and just like that, in due time your blessings will come!. May God make the Impossible Possible!. Don't let our fears extinguish that Faith and inner Strength we carry in our hearts! ❤

The apostle Paul gives us a new way to look at the painful seasons in our lives. He tells you that there is purpose in your pain. And when not viewed correctly, you risk wasting your pain. Paul answers one of the many “why” questions that gets asked in painful moments. Though the answer is not all encompassing, it will give clarity to the question, “Why did I have to go through that hard time?” and “Why would God make me suffer that way?” Buckle up, it’s a new way to look at pain. “All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us” (2 Corinthians 1:3–4)

"Self cannot change self, the very idea of self effecting a change in us presupposes a selfish change. The desire for change from within us should spring from a source outside of ourselves. The only source of all good is not within us but in the person who created us. Our contact must be with the God who created us, and the spring of the life that is in Him, we must have as a spring welling up in us as the life we are to live that is pleasing to Him. That life may not please those whose life springs from their own natural spirit because of the fact that natural life alone which springs from self alone will clash with those whose life springs from the Spirit of the living God. Self dies and the spirit of self dies with it. "
