Young Person Loses Life After A Car Falls On Victim

The relaunched Echo is sorry to report about the tragic incident involving the employee at Gastime in Jackson, New Jersey. Gastime Auto Repair specializes in diesel repairs of trucks, vehicles, engines, suspensions, air brakes, and more.

Unfortunately, a 26-year-old employee died as a result of "a car falling on him." The Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) 2007 report, plus the Health and Safety Executive 2023 Report, has found an increase in life-threatening dangers of mechanics working under vehicles worldwide.

It's always devastating to hear about such a loss of life. The relaunched Echo, N.J.'s oldest Black-owned newspaper staff, thoughts go out to the demised family and colleagues during this difficult time. You can click on the News 12 report link provided for more information.

On Going Investigation Of Two People Of Color Accused Of Robbing A Gas Station.

Per a report by Sarah Salvadore of the Patch on Jan 8, 2024, two Black men rob a gas station while wearing ski masks. Per the report, men walked into a "Little Ferry Township Gas Station where one person requested to purchase a drink," and then the other man "brandished a firearm and emptied a victim's pockets," plus "cash from the register." Per Saladore's report, both men sped away on Route 46. No injuries or fatalities were reported. There have been some recent reports of gas station robberies in New Jersey, particularly in the North Jersey region. However, it's important to keep in mind that specific crime trends can vary by location and time period. Staying aware of your surroundings and reporting any suspicious activity to local law enforcement is always a good idea. With today's gas prices, there's no wonder why more gas stations aren't being robbed. Suspects are at large per the last media report.
