The Killing of Paco M. Moore

Keansburg, NJ - Keansburg was shaken by the July 20 killing of Paco M. Moore, 28, who was shot in the neck while playing Pokémon Go with his fiancée and their toddler daughter. His fiancée was pregnant at the time, a detail that intensified the community’s grief and highlighted the generational trauma that gun violence inflicts on young families.


Three juveniles were charged: one with murder, attempted murder, and multiple weapons offenses; another with illegal gun possession; and a third with hindering arrest. Moore died shortly after officers responded to Carr Avenue following a 911 call.

Old Bridge, NJ -In a disturbing federal case, Daniel Berwick, 39, pleaded guilty to producing and possessing child pornography after posing as a teenage boy on Snapchat. He targeted two underage girls — one in Texas, one in California — coercing them into sending explicit images and threatening exposure to their families and teachers.


One victim reported feeling suicidal under the weight of his threats. FBI agents later seized Berwick’s devices, uncovering over 1,000 images of child sexual exploitation, including prepubescent minors.
