Tragic Accident Highlights Rising Traffic Fatalities in New Jersey

Sayreville NJ -- A tragic accident claimed the life of Jamal Ebron, a 53-year-old Black man from Jersey City, Wednesday on the northbound side of the Edison Bridge on Route 9 per a report shared by Carly Baldwin of The Middletown Patch on May 22, 2025. According to report Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Sayreville Police Chief Daniel Plumacker, Mr. Ebron was outside his disabled tractor trailer trying to repair his vehicle when he and his vehicle were struck by a Hyundai Kona driven by a 33-year-old Old Bridge resident.

Mr. Ebron was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Hyundai was transported to Raritan Bay Medical Center for treatment. Authorities, including Officer Nicholas Kales and Detective Ken McGarry, are actively investigating the incident. This fatality comes amid a troubling rise in New Jersey traffic deaths, with state police reporting a nearly 24 percent increase in fatal car accidents from 2023 to 2024. Drivers and pedestrians remain the most vulnerable. Globally, road crashes claim 1.35 million lives annually, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) underscoring the urgent need for improved road safety. Perth Amboy Students Gain Insight into Military Life During Fleet Week

PERTH AMBOY, NJ — During Fleet Week, Perth Amboy High School students experienced a powerful introduction to military life when a U.S. Marine Corps helicopter landed at Dalton Park. This event, organized by the Department of Defense, was significant for those enrolled in the Navy's Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC). Students had the rare chance to meet helicopter pilots, explore the inside of a real military helicopter, and ask questions about what it truly means to serve.

The visit was more than just exciting it was a solemn reminder of the dedication, discipline, and responsibility required in a military career. Through direct interaction with service members, students learned about the values of leadership, teamwork, and civic duty. These lessons are not just about personal achievement but about making a real difference in the world. Tragedy and Injustice: The Heartbreaking Story of Ryan Hinton

and the Call for Change

Cincinnati Ohio: In a heart-wrenching tragedy that has shaken the Cincinnati community and beyond, Mr. Rodney Hinton Jr. suffered a devastating psychotic break after witnessing police body camera footage of his son, Ryan Hinton, being fatally shot by Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy Larry Henderson May 2, 2025. The footage, which Mr. Hinton Jr. reviewed, showed 18-year-old Ryan on May 1, 2025 fleeing from a car—unarmed and crawling on the ground and then running from police—contradicting police claims that he had brandished a gun. Despite these facts, the officer's actions resulted in the loss of a young life, a beloved son, and a promising athlete cherished by his family.

This incident is not isolated. Across the United States, Black families continue to bear the brunt of police violence and racial profiling. Studies have shown that Black individuals are disproportionately represented among victims of police shootings—more than six times as likely as Whites to be shot by police, and in large cities, killed at least three times more often. The pattern of officers falsely claiming to see a weapon, only for evidence to later reveal otherwise, is a recurring and deeply troubling theme in these tragedies.

Cynthia Lee's, 2004 "I thought he had a gun." study please click the link:

The trauma inflicted on families like the Hintons is immeasurable. For Mr. Hinton Jr., the unbearable pain of losing his son under such unjust circumstances led to a break from reality—a stark reminder of the psychological toll police violence exacts on Black communities. His attorney, Clyde Bennett II, has urged the public to see Mr. Hinton Jr. not as a "cop-killer" but as a father pushed to the brink by a system that failed his family.

Ryan Hinton's story is a painful echo of countless others—young Black men and women whose lives were cut short by officers who acted on unfounded fears or stereotypes. As Les Payne once wrote, "Nowadays, weapons need to exist only in the mind of the policeman in firing position.” The statistics and stories demand that Americans confront the systemic racism and implicit bias that continue to endanger Black lives. It is astonishing how domestic and foreign terrorists can avoid being shot and killed even when carrying contraband, yet a Black male teenager, merely accused of having a gun without one being visible, is consistently killed. Citizens collective responsibility is to ensure that truth, compassion, and justice prevail. https://www.tiktok.com/@niaworld36/video/7503729979524533535

Major Restructuring at the NSC: A Shift Towards Centralized Decision-Making and Staff Reductions

Washington DC -- According to a CNN report by Kylie Atwood, Kit Maher, and Alex Marquardt, the Trump administration placed over 100 National Security Council (NSC) officials at the White House on administrative leave on Friday, May 23, 2025, as part of a sweeping restructuring led by interim national security adviser and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

CNN had previously reported that a significant reorganization of the NSC, the body responsible for coordinating the president’s foreign policy, was expected, including a reduction in staff and a shift toward a more centralized, top-down decision-making process.

The process unfolded rapidly. At approximately 4:20 P.M. on Friday, NSC chief of staff Brian McCormack sent an email to those being dismissed, informing them they had just 30 minutes to clear their desks. For those not on campus, the email provided instructions for arranging a later time to collect their belongings and return government devices. The subject line, “Your return to home agency,” indicated that most affected staff were detailed to the NSC from other departments and agencies.

The timing and manner of the dismissals raised concerns among officials. The decision to notify staff late on a Friday before a holiday weekend was described by one administration official as vindictive. The abrupt notifications led to a flurry of emails from departing staff, sharing personal contact information as they prepared to leave. The restructuring affected both career officials and political appointees. In the weeks leading up to the move, staffers had been re-interviewed by the Office of Presidential Personnel, with questions about the appropriate size of the NSC signaling impending downsizing. Traditionally, the NSC is staffed by foreign policy experts from across the U.S. government and plays a critical role in shaping and coordinating the president’s foreign policy agenda. Under President Donald Trump, however, the NSC’s influence has diminished, and the latest overhaul is expected to further reduce its significance within the White House.

Earlier in May, Mike Waltz, who previously led the NSC, was removed from his position in the first major staff change of the new administration. President Trump announced plans to nominate Waltz as UN ambassador, with Marco Rubio temporarily stepping in at the NSC. Waltz’s standing within the administration had already been weakened following a security lapse involving a journalist and internal dissatisfaction among senior staff. In the weeks before the restructuring, several NSC staffers were dismissed at the urging of far-right activist Laura Loomer, who alleged disloyalty among certain officials. The cumulative effect of these actions has left the NSC in a state of uncertainty, with its future role in the administration’s foreign policy apparatus now in question. https://www.cnn.com/2025/05/23/politics/national-security-council-administrative-leave-trump?utm_source=cnn_In+Case+You+Missed+It+-+ICYMI&utm_medium=email&bt_ts=1748042111688&bt_ee=bGbRFIAHcy%2FySxySKPZbv7iMK5kyOCSSpD6HA1IxEaSKp5Tb6xQDRRIqtWgKp%2F1C&bt_alias=eyJ1c2VySWQiOiAiMDg1NWIwNmEtYTM1YS00ODk2LThiZGMtMDA3NzRiMzk4NWU1In0%3D
